Reflection Memo - Equity In The Workplace

In Chapter 4 Values, Attitudes, and Work Behaviour we are introduced to the impartiality Theory. This Theory states that the inputs that people perceive themselves as investing in a job and the outcomes that the job provides are compared against the inputs and outcomes of some different relevant person or group. I devote unraveled at Metro Grocery Store as a rupture since I was 15, Ive seen a lot of employees and managers come and go, and have received raises and promotions in my judgment of conviction there. Over the socio-economic classs I have worked my way up from organism a cashier, to being a customer service representative, to now being a front end supervisor all the while acquiring new skills and experience. However, and this is where the Equity Theory comes into play; my hard work (input) is not reflected in my pay (outcome), this is especially true when I compare myself to my co-worker Kelly. Kelly started at Metro one year after I did, she began as a cashier, wherefore a customer service representative and was then asked to become a front end supervisor just as I was, however; Kelly was given a larger raise then I when she became supervisor. I became more and more dissatisfied the longer I thought about it and it was origin to make me not command to work for the company anymore. I kept asking myself, how could someone who had been with the company less time and had less seniority then I get paid more than me? The distributive fairness (justice) was out of balance my inputs and outcomes did not equal Kellys inputs and outcomes which in turn was the leading bewilder to my dissatisfaction.
