The Eye

The eye is a round shaped organ that provides us with vision. It consists of three separate tiers, the sclera, the choroid layer, and the retina, also known as the satellite layer, the middle layer and the inner layer. The sclera is the outer white layer of the eye. It gives shape to the eye and is the attachment internet site of the extrinsic muscles. The choroid layer is just inside of the sclera. It contains inventory vessels supplying the eye with nutrients and oxygen. The innermost layer is the retina. It is the most pregnant layer in the eye as it contains photoreceptor cells. The two types of photoreceptor cells be cones and rods. Both the rods and cones act as the centripetal receptors. Once they are excited the nerve message is passed from the rods and cones to the bipolar cells, which then relay the message to the optic nerve, sending the pulse rate to the brain.

The outer layer contains the cornea along with the sclera. The cornea is a transparent covering at the apparent movement of the eye which bends light towards the pupil.
