Charlie Chaplin: Actions Speak Louder than Words
Have you ever setn a silent movie? If yes, chances are you have probably hear of Charlie Chaplin. He is arguably the most famous silent operator of all time. His work pioneered the silent movie era and became a standard for other silent movies of the time. With aside him, it is very possible the movies we see today would cease to exist. He has become a sign name and his works are still relevant to this day. It is sort of hard to believe that he made such a statement with only the use of silent movies. This is because Charlie Chaplins movies were contrasted whateverthing audiences had ever seen before and his work was a fresh show up on entertainment. Charlie Chaplin was undoubtably the most famous actor of his time.
Born on April 16, 1889, Chaplin had a more than rough childhood. He was raised for the most part by his mother, who was stricken with poverty and hardly ever had any means of income. When he was 11 his mother was committed to a mental hospital and he was sent to live with his father, an alcoholic. This home was short lived, though, as his father died 2 years afterward from cirrhosis of the liver. Until the time of her death, Charlies mother was in and out of mental hospitals.
Charlies rise to fame started when he began working with Fred Karno, in 1910, who had a famous British traveling show. He sign a contract with the company and began touring North America. The tour lasted 21 months and received grand reviews from American viewers. The act returned to England in 1912. He would go on to headline another tour with Karno which was not very successful; this led to his departure from the studio.
In 1913 after he had left Karno, Chaplin signed a contract with a major studio called Keystone Studios. This is where Chaplins success real began to take off.
