Over the phone line of time, historians have ranked the run of Alexander the Great to be arguably the greatest ruler of totally time. He also turned the Macedonian economy around thru job creation and trade skills. Lastly, Philip II was able to use his geographic advantage the Mediterranean sea to build up his empire.
The major reason that Philip II is regarded as highly as he is today is thanks to the war machine advances and conquest of Greece. Philip II lays claim to being the first draw that raised a professional army. What this means is that he funded and stipendiary these members just like a legitimate army today. to begin with Philip II, this practice was unheard of.
