The increasing number of libel cases filed against journalists clearly shows the abuses on the law to the right of the press in expression and also the peoples right to know. It was clear, the libel law has been used only just to stifle press freedom, restrain media criticism of government officials and their acts, and suppress truths from being publicized. My perception is that to the highest degree of the legislators and government officials do not want to decriminalize libel because it is always the public officials who are the subject of news. Media has its spin-control. It has its power to behave and change the point of view of people.
