In William Shakespeares Macbeth, driving ambition caused Macbeth and lady Macbeth to cut up king Duncan because of their desire for strength. In an attempt to retain his power Macbeth also murdered Banquo and Macduffs family. However, Macbeth fells guilt for the act he just committed. He also fears that he will not get away with the murder he has committed. Shakespeare uses the images of blood and, the pricker, and references to stop passim the play to explore the consequences of his guilt and fears. At the fire Macbeth has given up on his life. And he comes to realize his downslope and knows that there is no hope for him to redeem himself or jab at the power once he had.
In the play, Macbeth decides to drink down Duncan because of his ambition and desire for power to become king and Shakespeare introduces the images of dagger and blood that will his guilt. While, the decision to murder Duncan is encouraged by the prophecies of the witches and as well as the insistentpushing of his wife, Macbeth still is wracked with guilt all over what he is about to do, and his mind races with thoughts of such abuse action. He begins to envision a dagger, pointing toward king Duncans room and perhaps indicating that he should use it to follow through on his and dame Macbeths plan of murdering the king.
