The drunkenness age in the United States should be lowered from twenty-one to eighteen. One argument is that when a U.S. soldier returns from battle to have dinner with his dad, why can he not have a beer with his dinner? He is fitted to risk his life for this fight, but he cannot drink a beer with his dad on his day of return? People grade that 18 year olds are too immature to drink and cannot handle it, but then why are they allowed to holdup two jobs, be a legal adult, drive, and go to college replete time? It seems to me that the only reason for the drinking age to be older than eighteen is that people are scared that the eighteen-year-olds would not be able to handle their alcohol, but anybody who just starts drinking needs time to get used to it.
