Murder. Mystery. Intrigue. These are all qualities of a great mystery novel, such as And Then There Were None and The Hound of the Baskervilles. It was also placed at the crime sentiment to confuse Poirot and the reader. Finally, the piece of evidence that lead Poirot to discover who hit the victim: a piece of burned paper that when burnt again revealed these words: member little Daisy Armstrong (Christie 78). This lead Poirot to discover that the victim was a man by the name of Cassetti and he was once charged and acquitted of the kidnap and murder of Daisy Armstrong.
